Toughest Task? Tackle It With Right Floor Scraper Blades!

In many cases of Building owners whenever there are replacing or expansion plans with renovation projects, upgrading a space to improve its appearance and, sometimes, to accommodate additional functions, start with surface preparation and replacing floor coverings.
During surface preparation planning and efficiency is important as it reduces the time and labor needed to remove a floor, ultimately impacting a project’s return on investment.
So equipment choice in surface preparation projects, it is important to match the machine to the job to avoid damaging the floor.
Floor scrapers:
Walk Behind Floor Scraper, Ride‑On Floor Scraper, Propane Ride‑On Floor Scraper, Forklift Scraper are some of the widely used ones. These must be operated with tools at the right pitch, or angle to the floor, for them to be efficient. To make the big job easier, a wide selection of electrically operated tools are available.
Floor scraper blades:
  • Floor scraper blades that are compatible with various models of floor scraper machines and capable to maneuver over the roughest, as well as toughest of floor coverings, including tiles, hardwood, ceramics, linoleum, vinyl, carpet, adhesives, glue, tiles, parquet and lot more, are available.
  • These blades are available in different edge thicknesses to effectively withstand plus channel the effort of floor scraper machines without fail to remove the remains and coverings on floors even at the hardest to reach corners of rooms.
  • Shorter blades are designed for materials where the bond between the flooring and the concrete is extremely strong, such as vinyl composition tile (VCT). They also work well for parking deck coatings, epoxies, and elastomeric coatings. This is because shorter blades have significantly more pressure per square inch and can break through strong bonds more effectively.
  • A longer blade would dull much faster due to excessive pressure on its edge.
The Different Types Of Floor Scraper Blades Are:
  • Straight Floor Scraper Blades and Carpet Scraper Blades.
  • Standard Blades -These heavy-duty blades are designed to remove soft goods, carpet, and vinyl flooring.
  • Blades with Slot -These slotted heavy-duty blades are designed to remove soft goods, carpet, and vinyl flooring.
  • Double Edge Blades -Heavy-duty Blades. These heavy-duty blades work on VCT, VAT, wood, tile, rubber, epoxy, elastomeric coatings, scraping thin-set, and glued ceramic.
  • Extra Heavy-duty Blades -They work on VCT, VAT, wood, tile, lighter ceramic, re-scraping thin-set, all carpets, cork, elastomeric coatings, and re-scraping rubber and urethane coatings.
  • 1-Inch Blade-Designed for VCT and adhesive re-scrape. They also work well for parking deck coatings, epoxies, and elastomeric coatings.
  • Razor/Scraper Blades-Designed for super-hard thin epoxies, and hard to remove adhesives. Sold in packs of 50.
  • Scraper blades come with several options also. They come in 3-inch or 4-inch lengths, front to back of the blade. Contractors must choose the correct blade for the application.

Using the wrong floor stripper for an application?
Operating the equipment incorrectly will slow a project down.
In the worst-case, the floor stripper could tear up the concrete, leaving the contractor with an expensive mistake to correct.
Thankfully, these mistakes can easily be avoided even by inexperienced contractors, as long as they have a good understanding of the equipment and ensure every project runs as smoothly as possible.
